Daily rates include a generous buffet breakfast-cum-brunch with healthy organic ingredients, served from 8.30 to midday. We produce much of the food we serve, including bread, eggs, butter and other dairy products, honey, jams and preserves, sweetmeats, cakes and pastries, paté, medicinal herbs, condiments and seasonings, chestnuts and pine nuts, and fresh fruit in season including local wild fruit.
We roast and grind our own coffee. Milk, vegetables, fish, free-range eggs, some cheeses and fruits, shitake mushrooms and smoked salmon are delivered daily by local producers with organic controls.
Meals, snacks, soups, sorbets and ice creams are available but should be ordered well in advance. We favour home cooking based on local cuisine and a variety of Brazilian dishes depending on the season.
The bar, open daily, serves the usual range of drinks as well as a number of really excellent local cachaças. Cachaça or pinga is a strong alcoholic beverage distilled from sugarcane juice. It can be enjoyed neat or with lime juice, sugar and plenty of ice (caipirinha).
Most of our tableware (plates, mugs, jugs etc) is made by local potters in Cunha. We also have many paintings, photographs, sculptures and decorative objects by well-known artists. Our logo, As Malabaristas (“The Jugglers”), is by Alex Vallauri, all rights reserved.
